The FLAIRS 2005 conference will be held at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort. We have arranged for a limited number of rooms at the conference rate of $139 per night + tax. Reservations must be made by April 15, 2005. Whether reserving online or by phone, you must use the code "FAIGA" to get the conference rate.
The hotel is 25 minutes from St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport and 30 minutes from Tampa International Airport. Transportation is available through Super Shuttle (800-258-3826) at a rate of $17 one way to/from the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport, and $21 one way to/from the Tampa Airport.
The resort is located on 10 acres of powder-white beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. The resort is only 5 minutes from downtown Clearwater and 40 minutes from Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. Orlando, Disney, Universal and MGM theme parks are only 90 minutes away.
Conference attendees may self-park at the hotel for free. Valet parking is available for $8.00 per night. The hotel is expected to be busy, so parking may be limited. The hotel guarantees parking for hotel guests, but non-guest attendees may be referred to the public lot next door, which charges $10.00 per day.
We have made arrangements with the Clearwater Beach Hotel to honor the $139 rate for the nights of Saturday, May 14 through Tuesday, May 17. The hotel is 0.2 miles away from the Hilton and also on the beach. Right now, they have only been able to block off 5 rooms, because they have very few rooms available on that Saturday night. But if you are not planning to stay that Saturday night, then they have more rooms available. To make a reservation, call their toll-free number 800-292-2295, ask for Aaron or Denise, and mention the FLAIRS conference to get the $139 rate. They will hold the rooms at the conference rate until May 1.
