How to study for classes:

An excellent article on how to study and review. This is not just the standard garabage you have heard all your life, but a short, practical article on how to minimize the time you spend, maximize your retention and avoid unproductive last minute cramming. This information is based on the latest research on how people learn.

Other useful Stuff:

A short note about following instructions.

I am an active member of a men's a cappella chorus, The Arlington Goodtimes Chorus. We sing mainly music in the American Barbershop style.

One of the things we don't learn much about in CSE is the way businesses are run. Here is one of the best books about the computer industry that I have read. It also deals with Xerox PARC, an institution that generated many of the advanced technologies that we take for granted today including much of the GUI interface, the mouse, pull-down menus and much more. The title is "Dealers of Lightening: Xerox PARC and the Dawn of the Computer Age". The ISBN is 0-88730-989-5. You can get it used for under $10 at Amazon. You have to take it with a grain of salt, but there is much to learn from here.

Some photos from past Commencements!

A short note on philosophy.

My take on Gigabit Ethernet

An  interesting link: Is COBOL the 18-Wheeler of the Web?

Mind Teaser - This is just for fun.

More Fun.

A short note on engineering design - ha, ha, only serious ;)
