Computer Literacy
(Sections 001, Fall 2007)

Instructor's Notes/Messages:

  1. WELCOME to CSE 1301 Computer Literacy, offered by the UTA Department of Computer Science and Engineering!   Prepare yourself to move fast, learn a lot and have some fun!   The purpose of this class, is to begin the process of learning what a computer is and, just ass important, what it is not.  We will investigate the types of problems suited for computers, and address the practical aspects of how you utilize a computer to solve problems.  We will address the organization and characteristics of computers;  applications of commercial software such as word processors, spreadsheets, databases packages, and communication packages.   The course is organized around a practical learning approach, where we will discuss a topic in class and then investigate the practical aspects of that topic through hands-on laboratory assignments.
