Fundamentals Of Engineering Examination

Students
- Senior students enrolled in engineering degree programs recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) may take the Fundamentals of Engineering examination at their schools, provided the school will administer the examination as prescribed by the board. This includes providing the facilities and proctors at no cost to the board.
- Graduate students must either hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering as approved by the coordinating board or the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology or have completed a minimum of 20 semester hours of graduate level engineering courses to qualify to take the exam at their schools.
Graduates
- Texas residents who have an engineering degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) may apply to take the fundamentals examination. Testing sites have been established in Austin, Dallas, and Houston.
