Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Distributed Rational Agents*

This program was conducted at an NSF supported REU Site in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington (CSE@UTA) and provided assistantships to qualified undergraduate junior and senior computer science and engineering students to participate in research in the field of distributed rational agents. The student participants investigated problems related to Quality of Service (QoS) requirements, intelligent decision making, and adaptive capabilities under real-time constraints in distributed, intelligent agents. This research was performed in the larger context of MavHome and WISE, two large-scale research projects investigating the design and control of intelligent environments and of distributed, intelligent agents operating in real-time.
