Assignment Due Date Details / Documents to hand in
Getting Started Assignment 08/28 Per instructions in Getting Organized (Day 1) Slides and Getting Started Assignments document. Use Standard Page Layout for all written documents that you prepare for submission. Submit to the instructor as specified in the document.
Team Proposal 09/02 According to the instructions in the Getting Started Assignments Document, submit a document with proposed team members and rationale.
Individual Skill Assessment 09/05 Use Individual Skill Assessment form. Submit hard-copy at the beginning of class. Keep a copy to use for Team Skill Assessment exercise during lab.
Team Skill Assessment, Project Choices 09/11 & 09/12 Use Team Skill Assessment form. Complete in teams DURING lab session. See Getting Started Assignments document. Each Team turn in a one-page paper that identifies your proposed team leader, and your top three choices for your project from the approved project list. Explain your rationale for the teammate/leader choices in one-two sentences.
Project Charter and Plan 10/16 (draft) & 12/02 (final) Use the Project Charter Template (adapted, as required, to fit your team's project) or prior Senior Design document as a template. Include MS project file (soft copy) as an attachment in your submission (See an example of an MS project file for a Senior Design Project developing a Submersibel). For the initial draft submission, complete as much as possible considering known requirements. For the final submission, Clean up, wrap up and turn in your updates per your completed Requirements Review and final plan revisions. Submit your updated detailed plan as an MS Project file attached to the Charter submission. Ensure that the WBS addresses all deliverables, deliverable dates and individual responsibilities (per line item) are shown.
Project Charter and Plan Peer Review Day of Charter Review Each individual peer reviewer should use the Charter Peer Review Form to evaluate the assigned team's Charter document and presentation. For this you should go over the team's Charter draft which will be posted in the Document Archive. In addition to submitting the peer evaluation, you should also provide feedback directly to the reviewed group in order to help them improve their Charter and project.
Systems Requirement Document (SRD) 10/09 (draft) & One week after review (final) Use the SRD Template (adapted, as required, to fit your team's project) or prior Senior Design document as a template. Additional documents useful for preparation of the SRD are the System Requirements Worksheet and the following references: IEEE Std. 830-1998 , IEEE Std. 1233-1998 .
SRD Peer Review Day of SRD Review Each individual peer reviewer should use the SRD Peer Review Form to evaluate the assigned team's SRD document and presentation. For this you should go over the team's SRD draft which will be posted in the Document Archive and should be sent to you by the team you are reviewing. In addition to submitting the peer evaluation, you should also provide feedback directly to the reviewed group in order to help them improve their Systems Requirements Document.
Architecture Design Document (ADS) 12/02 (draft) & in Senior Design II (final) The Architecture Design draft document will serve as the preview document for the ADS Review/Final Exam. Details on this review will be provided in class. Your final (review version) ADS will be due by 8:00am on the day of your scheduled Final Exam/ADS Gate Review.
